The Walk to Defeat Duchenne

The Walk to Defeat Duchenne raises money for Jesse’s Journey, the only Canadian charity that exists solely to fund Duchenne muscular dystrophy research. Because of the generous donations from our walkers and supporters, Jesse’s Journey has been able to grant over $10 million to fund the most promising research projects worldwide.

Registration: 8:45-9:30 a.m
Walk Begins: 10 a.m

This is an annual event, and is one of the largest fundraisers for Jesse’s Journey. Walkers will complete an 8.25km course through Springbank Park. Some will choose to walk the route 4 times, to honour the 33km John Davidson, Jesse’s Journey Founder, walked each of the 286 days he was on the road walking across Canada in 1998.

New this year: Registration fee for ages 16 and older is $15/person. Registrants under the age of 16 can participate for free.

Your registration fee includes:

  • A 2019 Walk to Defeat Duchenne t-shirt
  • Breakfast (coffee/juice/water, muffins/granola bars, fruit)
  • Lunch (pizza/hamburger/hot dog, soft drink/juice/water, chips, fruit)

Please note, registration fees are non-refundable and do not qualify for a tax receipt
